From Mayor Lisa Marotta: Why Strong Schools Are Rocky Hill’s Strongest Investment
When I talk to families across Rocky Hill, one thing comes up again and again: our schools.
Rocky Hill’s reputation as one of Connecticut’s most desirable towns is the result of smart planning, dedicated educators, and a community that believes in its kids. I’m proud of the strategic investments we’ve made in education; investments that deliver real results for students while respecting taxpayers.
Our students are thriving. We recently earned the highest standardized test scores among towns with similar socioeconomic profiles. That’s a reflection of our teachers’ commitment, our families’ support, and our students’ hard work. And we’re doing it efficiently. Our district operates more effectively than 70% of comparable towns. That tells me we’re getting it right: excellence and fiscal responsibility can go hand in hand.
We’re also thinking ahead. Programs like Dream Cafe give students hands-on experience in business and service, and they’re self-sustaining.
And that future? It’s already taking shape. With 98% of Rocky Hill’s Class of 2025 committed to college, career training, or military service, our graduates are stepping into the world with confidence and purpose.
Even as new state mandates come our way, we’re ready. We’re updating policies and practices without disrupting student learning, because our commitment to excellence isn’t short-term. It’s built to last.
In my next term, I’ll continue to prioritize academic excellence, responsible budgeting, and innovative programs that prepare our students for the future and keep Rocky Hill thriving.
On November 4, I’m asking for your vote, and your trust, to keep this momentum going. Vote for me, Lisa Marotta, and the entire Republican slate. Together, we’ll keep building a better Rocky Hill.
Better plan. Better path. Better Rocky Hill. Let’s keep building it together.
